2020 Vision

2020 Vision

Despite this recent pandemic, I still believe 2020 is our year. America has had two presidential primaries in a row with rival-worthy female candidates. Powerful men are finally facing the consequences of their actions. Uncomfortable conversations about consent, gender identity and race are at the forefront of public conversation. And now, the Earth has stood still. As much as we’ve ever seen in our lifetimes, anyway. It wasn’t an alien invasion, ebola, a zombie apocalypse or anything else our imaginations dreamed of. It was a flu. Yes, a deadly flu. But nothing nearly as dangerous as we thought would be necessary to cause us to be still. In the face of the Coronavirus, we’re learning so much about each other. Like when Americans are scared, they stock up on toilet paper…

Intuitive AF

Intuitive AF

Blog
Back in April, my intuition pointed me to three spiritual principles to define Spirit Uncensored: Choice, Faith and Gratitude. However, my intuition failed to warn me that to lead this organization successfully, I would have to go through a gauntlet of spiritual lessons on the power of choice, faith and gratitude. This month, we’re focusing on faith. Unfortunately, releasing fear and trusting that my life is always unfolding perfectly is easier said than done. But because I’d just completed a 4-month exploration of “The Power of Decision”, I foolishly believed I could simply choose to let my intuition guide me through my personal tests of faith. I feel like I use my intuition about 68% of the time...so I’m not quite intuitive AF. But now that I’m focused on following…

Shit-Talking Karen

Working in the television industry is literally the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I spent my first 3 ½ years in LA cycling through unemployment, unpaid internships and part-time jobs. It took 4 more years of working as an assistant before I finally stepped into an executive role. On top of that, working in the TV industry is EXTREMELY challenging. There are a lot of tight deadlines with expectations of perfect and polished content, a high volume of work, and managing a lot of anxious people who are stressed out by the challenging workload. This perfect storm of events led to the birth of Shit-Talking Karen. She’s the voice in my head who second-guesses everything. She criticizes me every opportunity she gets. She judges everyone and everything that doesn’t go…

Assumptions in Paris

Assumptions in Paris

Blog
By The Wife I planned a big trip to France this year, after years of procrastination and watching fares. Finally, we would be “N****s in Paris” like Jay-Z and Kanye--before Ye lost it and they fell out. Or maybe we would be like Jay-Z and Beyonce famously taking over the Louvre as they did in Ape Sh*t. Most importantly, it is my 40th birthday so I wanted to do something awesome. So, for months, I watched cheap flights, made sure that our finances were on point and finally reserved our plane tickets. I’d spoken to cousins and coworkers who have traveled to or live in Paris ad nauseam before making this purchase. I sent the itinerary to Karen and all is perfect. We were both ecstatic. I get this multi-tour…

Click here to make a donation of any amount! Join us in supporting our teens' dedication to being the change they wish to see in the world! Jade Delgado and Gabe Mazarei would appreciate your help in sending them to the Centers for Spiritual Living Winter Teen Empowerment Camp. Jade volunteers to play drums at our SpiritUncensored experiences. Gabe often arrives early to our monthly events because his father volunteers to run sound. Gabe spends that time helping everyone set up. We only have until December 18th to raise the funds. Neither teen was planning to attend camp this winter. However, both of them eagerly stepped up to help raise funds when invited to attend as SpiritUncensored teens. Any donation is appreciated to get these teens to camp!
